I love teaching!

Hey! Sorry, I've made some videos, but it's been hard to connect to youtube via wireless here. I'm still working on it. I just finished my 2nd week of teaching and I love it! My kids are wonderful and my co-teachers are very helpful. They call me Ms. Krista :) It's pretty cute. They're not used to though because they would usually call me Krista teacher or _____ teacher or just teacher. I've been training them well. This week I started teaching 2 after school classes 3 days a week. It's a little (or a lot) of extra work, but I get paid more...plus its so much more rewarding when you can actually remember students names and get to know them. Also, lesson planning is finally starting to get easier. I think I was over thinking everything. I do that a lot.

Anyway...my apartment is starting to feel more like home. I'm going to clean and decorate some more tonight so pictures will be posted soon! My neighborhood seems ok, but I haven't ventured out anywhere except the bus stop and the supermarket. I think its time :) I did that at school today. I figured out why my room shakes several times a day and why it sounds like a stampede is coming....the gym is right above me. I'm on the 4th floor of the school and the gym is on the 5th. Crazy! And it's a full gym/auditorium too. I don't think you'd ever find that in the states.

I've been trying to hang out with some of the friends I've made here. It's hard for me during the week because I've been busy shopping and trying to catch up on lesson plans. But I think I've got a system down so I can get more done at school. Last weekend we went out to some Korean style clubs/bars for a friends birthday. I'm pretty sure they stay open until like 6am...I'm not sure how people last that long. Public transportation stops around 11:30pm and starts at 5:30am so if I've found that most people stay out until they get back home cheaply (its like a dollar to ride the bus or subway, including transfers). Otherwise you have to take a cab. I opted for the cab cuz I was exhausted by 3am. It wasn't too bad though. Plus we had a pretty fun evening and ended at a 'no re bang,' which you probably know as karaoke. Except you and your friends rent a room to sing...no singing in front of random strangers. It's awesome and really fun! Well, that's all the time I have for now. Hope all is well!
