A Long Journey

I'm exhausted, but I'm finally in Korea! Here’s how it went… We left Hastings to battle the blizzard outside around 6am Monday morning. Luckily we made it to the airport safely. Because of the wonderful snow my flight out of MSP was delayed by 3 hours which caused me to miss my connecting flight in Detroit to Seoul. I was rerouted before I left MSP thankfully and my parents and sister got to see me for a little longer. Got out of MSP to Detroit (I know wrong direction and still where the snow storm is) around noon. After a nice 4 hour layover in Detroit and a delay while taxing because of snow I got to NY (even farther in the wrong direction) around 8pm. I meandered at JFK for a few hours before taking off to Seoul at 1am Tuesday. At this point I’ve been up for about 20 hours. On the plus side, I got to fly Korean Air (wonderful service). Tried to sleep as much as possible on the plane...I think I got a few solid hours in. Safely landed in Seoul at 5am Wednesday (this would be about 2pm Tuesday in MN I think). Of course because I was rerouted after I had checked my 2 bags, they hadn’t arrived yet. I should get them tomorrow they said. I packed planning this could happen, so I’m not too worried, I have what I need. My cousin Sang Jin picked me up from the airport with no trouble and we drove straight to my orientation sight. I checked in around 7am, met my roommate, showered, and got ready for the orientation to start. So now it’s about 7pm here, I squeezed in an hour nap this afternoon, but I’m seriously exhausted! Although I can hardly function, orientation is going well. I’ve met some cool people from all around the world. They said we won’t know where or what age I’m teaching until the last day of orientation…7 more days. Hope everyone is enjoying the snow!
