I’m on my way to visit my grandpa in Louisiana and continuing to feel incredibly blessed. The first leg of my journey was to Houston (now I’m en-route to Baton Rouge). It was about a 3 hour flight and I planned to read and sleep a little. However, as I took my seat I saw my neighbor was an unaccompanied 2nd grader. I had seen her with her parents before we boarded and thought to myself, I wonder if I’ll get to sit with her. She was adorable! Instead of resting like I wanted, I got to play with her! We played some video games, colored in a kitten coloring book, shared candy treats and dared each other to eat ice cubes or M&Ms. It was so much fun! One of the best flights I’ve ever been on!
After handing my new little friend back over to the airlines care, I had another divine encounter. I’d been walking back and forth the Houston airport trying to decide what to eat and finally settled on Smoothie King. Waiting in line, a man in front of me strikes up a conversation. He was about my dad’s age, nicely dressed, white hair. We started talking and he brings up South Korea. Coincidence, I think not. So we talked about my time in Korea and my plans for Cambodia as we waited, and then he offered to buy my smoothie! Now, I know a smoothie isn’t a large gift, but how often does a stranger buy you a smoothie? God is good! I thank him and we part ways leaving feeling blessed yet again. I find my gate, sit down to wait and not 5 minutes later the same man unknowingly sits down across from me. Well of course I need to chat with him more and thank him again, when we find out we’re on the same flight to Baton Rouge! How amazing is that? Never got his name, but totally made my day even more enjoyable!
Finally finishing this back at my grandpa’s place just outside Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We’re “roughin’ it” for the next couple days. Not sure what that all entails, but I’ll let you know ;)
Blessings!
