Christmas and New Year's with my sister

I realize that Christmas was a long time ago, but I still wanted to share what a great time my sister Rachel and I had. I've been so blessed to have my family come visit me again this year. My mom came over the summer, my dad last fall and then my sister for Christmas. It was a great way to not feel so homesick while living abroad!

Rachel and I had a wonderful time! We went to a ski & snowboard resort, travelled to Busan, rested at a jimjilbang (bath house), spent time with our family and met many of my amazing friends. As many of you know, our family has a love of winter sports, specifically skiing and boarding. So taking my sister to Yongpyong Resort on the east coast of Korea was definitely a highlight for both of us. Yongpyong is one the places the 2018 Winter Olympics will be held. They're longest run is about 3.5 miles long, it was awesome!!

Rachel had never been to Busan, a south eastern port city, so decided to take a mini vacation to see the city. We got to attend a traditional Korean orchestra concert, went to the chilly beach and found a trick-eye museum. At the concert, I'm pretty sure we were the only foreigners in the building. Interesting because it was a cultural center, but anyway. I had to order tickets over the phone a few weeks before. Now my Korean has improved since last year, but it's always harder over the phone. Thankfully I managed to understand enough of it and purchased our on-call tickets. When we arrived at the concert we hadn't waited in line more than 30 seconds, when one of the guys behind the desks looks at us and yells, Kuh-ree-suh-ta? Hahaha! Yup, only non-Koreans. We had a great time though!

Overall, I had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's with my lil sis :) It was so great to have her around for the holidays!
