Friendly Neighbors & Silly Kids

So on most days I end up running to the bus stop. The other day I knew that I had probably missed the bus, but I ran anyway. As I ran I passed his woman and her husband that live by me. I usually see her on my bus in the morning so I bowed and said hi as I ran passed. Just as I thought, I missed the bus. There's another bus stop I can go to, but it makes me 5 min late. I headed in that direction anyway and then I heard a honk behind. It was the woman and her husband. In Korean, she asked me if I was doing to Dongnimmun, where my school is, and offered to give me a ride. Now I don't really know them, but I got in anyway haha. We rode in silence, I assumed it was the language barrier. Turns out the woman works near my school so her husband dropped us off and I thanked them. So sweet! Totally made my day :) Then a couple days later, I was waiting at the bus stop, in the rain of course, and they pulled up to give me a ride again. This time I tried to talk with them and turns out her husband speaks like perfect English. Well not perfect, but full sentences at least. So cool and so sweet, I love Korea!

Speaking of things that make my day. I have one studetns that responds the same way every time I ask "how are you today?" He says, "teacher, I am always sleepy, let's sleep together." haha the first time I heard it, I stopped and was like what did he just say. Then I realized what he meant. He meant, let the class take a nap. haha I eventually told him the correct way to say it, but he still forgets. So funny. Also, I wore my glassed for the first time in like 3 months and one of my 5th grade boys came up to me and said, "you have nice glasses" smiled and walked away. So cute! They are precious, I love his class, but they're so difficult. I think at least three students possibly have ADHD and it takes so much time to get things done. I told my co-teacher we need a new approach. Hopefully we can figure something out for next semester. Also in that class, last week they had THIS written on their knuckles. So I asked what it was for. They responded with a saying, "This is poddy. This is poddy. Weeeeee and pee!" I was so confused, they did it over and over again. I thought they were talking about going to the bathroom or something. So I finally asked them to explain it to me. Poddy or Parree means Paris in Korean, their D's and R's sound the same sometimes. So they're talking about Paris...ok. The "weeee" came with a motion of something flying, like an airplane, which he finally told me. Ok so flying in Paris and then 'pee?' In Korean 'pee' means blood. Haha so they were talking about flying in Paris, hitting the Eiffel Tower and dying. Boys, wow, I still love them :)

Well thats all for now. Last week of school, yay! I just wish it would stop raining...
PEACE!
